Why Pay a Healthy Monthly Fee for a Website?

Adam Kirk • Dec 07, 2018

Because . . . it really is "healthy".

Some might ask . . . why should I pay what seems to be a high ( healthy ) monthly fee for a website.  OK - good question , so let's get right to it.

It's relatively easy to get a cheap website. There's no shortage of companies that will provide a template based website and hosting.

But . . . that's where the separation begins.

Cheap websites are . . . well . . . cheap!

The adage " you get what you pay for" generally holds true. A lot more is needed in todays online market than a nice look, some content and hosting.

Who does all the hard work?

In most cases, with a cheap website , the answer to that is . . . YOU !

  • You are the one who has to learn the backend tools to create your site.
  • You are the one that has to search an online knowledge base or email for support. Most don't have phone support.
  • You have to think like a designer to plan out your site - even with a template.
  • You have to choose and properly enter your pictures.
  • You are the one who will have to write all content.
  • You are the one responsible to make sure your site loads quickly (no one wants to wait).
  • You are the one that will need the knowledge to take your new site live.

The list goes on, but it's all You !

Make sure you compare apples to apples.

If you would do a side by side comparison of what you receive from most of the cheap sites (I'm talking

all the features and benefits ) and a custom website by Oostas, the list on a custom website by Oostas would be staggering and the list on the cheap site would . . . well, it would show all you're missing if you don't go with Oostas.

Hidden costs and extra expenses with cheap sites.

You're going to need a unique domain and IP address. Some of the cheap companies don't even provide a unique IP or they charge extra for it. If they allow a custom design, how much will that cost? Can you create additional pages? If you can, will it cost extra? What about simple things like domain based email - is that included? Probably not. You really need to look very carefully at all the options on cheap sites. If you would order all the necessary ones, you may no longer think it's a "cheap" site.

At Oostas we pride ourselves on meeting the needs of the average small business owner. You'll know exactly what you’ll be getting and exactly what you’ll be paying, no strings attached. Our website pricing includes everything from competitive research to quarterly reviews once your site is live, so if you compare “apples to apples”, you’ll find we are very competitively priced.

We've already done the work and we know what it takes to have an amazing web presence and we include it all with our package.

What may be missing from a cheap site?

Customers. The number of businesses that don't yet realize they need a lot more than a nice look, some informative content and hosting is mind-boggling. It takes a lot more to get a good return on your website investment. Just having a web presence is not enough. The obvious end result needed is more customers for you, and if your cheap site doesn't play well with search engines . . . you may not even know what you're missing.

Search engines won't return much to you if you don't know how to feed them properly. Oostas will be glad to provide a Free Website Audit that will show you how search engines are actually viewing your site . . . it's usually very enlightening.

What if you're techie and don't feel you need some company to do all that back end stuff for you?

Maybe the question shouldn't be "can" you do all that techie stuff, but "should" you be doing it?

  • First - all that techie stuff is constantly changing . Are you sure you can keep up with it?
  • Second - do you really have the time and resources to do it all? Going half way with marketing is never a good idea. It's all or nothing!
  • Third - can you do the first two without going nuts?

Few small businesses can do it all well . . . and keep their sanity.
